Kai Arts & Music provide one on one music lessons for students of all levels and ages.

Program include: Piano, Guitar, Violin, Viola, Saxophone, Music Theory

Piano

Lessons fees:
$50/ half hour lesson.
$75/ 45 minutes lesson.
$100/ 1 hour lesson.

Kai Arts and Music offers piano lessons in a friendly and cosy environment. Our team of teachers are highly qualified, patient and experienced. We have lessons catered for students of all ages and all levels. Our students include pre-school children to retired individuals, beginners to advanced, pre-university players.

Our lessons are suitable for those who want to learn just for leisure and we are especially strong in guiding those who are result oriented towards scholarship auditions and university entrance exams. Many of our students have won scholarships to prestigious private high schools, winning awards at local eisteddfod competitions, became holders of Performing Arts (Catholic School Music Festival) Shield and entered WAAPA and University to pursue music degree.

Guitars

Lessons fees:

Classical Guitar

Kai Arts and Music offers a fresh approach to formal guitar learning through its one-to-one class which has seen a large number of its student doing exceptionally well in local and the international Altamira competitions, local and private school admission auditions, music program auditions, school and social performances, ensemble activities and musical recordings.

In the classical guitar program, students navigate from the AMEB preliminary level, Grade 1-8 and onto the highest diploma levels. For those who simply wish to enjoy the guitar without the burden of exams, the program also offers a wide range of repertoire pieces to suit. Under the tutelage of Jeff Loo and his advanced students, our guitar students get to understand and enjoy various genres and perios of music.

Every year, Kai Arts & Music provides one of the largest numbers for a single school in the AMEB guitar exam intake in Western Australia.

Acoustic Guitar

Kai Arts & Music has spent over 2 years developing a systematic and formal approach (including collecting resources) towards teaching fingerstyle guitar and are pleased to introduce this exciting program!

The Acoustic Guitar is designed differently to the standard Classical Guitar and is primarily used in contemporary styles of music including pop, rock and movie soundtracks.

In this program, student get to learn both standard musical notations, Guitar TABS, advanced rhythmic guitar arrangements of every well known song under the sun!

For students wishing to take formal exams in this section, we do offer Trinity Acoustic Guitar Program.

Group Guitar

Kai Arts & Music offers term-based group guitar programs aimed at school students as well as adult-based group classes. These classes are aimed at beginner to intermediate levels with the goal f providing a high standard of training and exposure to those students wishing to simply enjoy the fun of playing guitar but with the correct music approach.

Duration of group class is 1 hour with students numbers ranging from minimum of 3 to a maximum of 8.

Advantages of the group apart from developing individual skills include performing in group ensemble as well as peer musical interactions. Please note that Group classes are conducted only on specific day slots.

Strings

Lessons fees:
$50/ half hour lesson.
$75/ 45 minutes lesson.

Kai Arts and Music has a talented pool of teachers who are dedicated to the development of string instruments learning and performing, primarily violins and violas. Our students perform in concerts, compete in Eisteddfods, join WAYO (WA Youth Orchestra) and many have gone on to become lead violinists and violists of their school orchestras.

Our teaching methods are conventional. However, our vast variety of teaching materials include Suzuki violin and viola books. We have mainly encourage the AMEB examinations for string players and we take students from beginner levels to pre-university players.

Our string department is particular about promoting correct posture and technique whilst helping the students to develop musical ears. It is essential that students understand that string instruments strive to mimic the human voice. Therefore, we encourage our students to listen and sing with their instruments.

Music Theory

Lessons fees: $30/ 1 hour lesson.

Music theory classes are provided outside of students’ regular lesson time. Theory classes are in small groups format, lead by an experienced and qualified teacher. Our program follows the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) Curriculum.

All of our students in Music Theory Classes have received outstanding results in their theory exams. Our established teaching system will guide students through each concept with clear explanations and practical examples. Many of our students are able to complete 2 grades in one year with excellent results.

Our Music Theory Classes are open to students outside of Kai Arts & Music.
